The Curator’s Perspective

Christopher Grech is a UK registered architect who has worked for some of the leading British architects such as Arup Associates and Foster and partners. Since 1994 he has also been teaching at universities in the USA including The University of Michigan and The Catholic University of America where he was the founding director of the Master of Science in Sustainable Design degree program. He has authored a number of books on construction technology which have been translated into Italian, German and Japanese.
A dual Maltese and UK citizen Christopher has been researching nineteenth century Malta under British rule and has written articles on the subject for Treasures of Malta and The Sunday Times of Malta.

 


Synopsis

Sponsored by the Alfred Mizzi Foundation. Professor Christopher Grech has spent many years researching the Order of St Michael and St George and in recent months has had access to the Order’s records at the Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood located in St James’ Palace, London. In his presentation, Prof. Grech will give an overview of the history of the Order and reveal some new discoveries.
