History Week 2015. The 1565 Great Siege, The Founding of Valletta and Their Lasting Effects

Synopsis

 

The Malta Historical Society and the Department of History, University of Malta are inviting you to History Week 2015 – a biennial event dedicated to exploring various facets of Maltese history. This symposium will take place at the Cardinal’s Hall at the Inquisitor’s Palace in Vittoriosa from Wednesday 11th November to Saturday 14th November. History Week 2015 will be exploring the Great Siege of 1565, the founding of Valletta and their lasting effects. Roger Crowley, acclaimed author of Empires of the Sea, will deliver the keynote lecture on Wednesday 11th November at 6:30pm. All sessions will be followed by a reception which would allow for further discussion. This event is being organised in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Malta and MASMOM. Heritage Malta, the Janatha Stubbs Trust, the National Book Council and the ADRC Trust are supporting this year’s History Week.
